Slow Down Honey – ‘One I Know’ (mp3)
It seems that thanks to Phoenix’s indie crossover success, doors have been opened for indie pop rockers all over, like Melbourne’s Strange Talk and Sydney’s Slow Down Honey. I’m sure there will be lots of ‘it’s nothing new’ type comments to come from bloggers, but I do enjoy a good rock pop tune. Slow Down Honey gave us ‘One I Know‘ as an exclusive preview of their upcoming album, and it’s a good start.

Howl – 'I Hear It's Love' video/ Win tix
If my EP debuted at 8 on the ARIA physical singles charts, my $21 video clip went straight to most requested on Channel V and if I didn’t have to bother changing outfits between gigs/press shoots/video clips, I’d be pretty chuffed too. A far cry from cover band beginnings under ‘The Power of the Zookeepers’ in humble Ballarat, it’s been another solid run for the Howl dudes who’ve been on the road with Children Collide, Yacht Club, DZ and the Philly Jays this year.
We’re giving away double passes to the ‘Brothers in Violence’ EP launches in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Shoot your deets through to rsvp@whothehell.net by the 13th of October to go in the running.

Ernest Ellis cancels tour
Ernest Ellis has been forced to cancel his tour with Parades in October due to illness. After being diagnosed with a medical condition that affects his hearing, Ellis has been advised by doctors to avoid exposure to loud music for two months to avoid further complications and permanent damage. Refunds are available from point of purchase. We wish him a quick recovery and fingers crossed he’ll be back on the road soon.
