hey Mel could be right on – if she wasn’t born when Haring was popular in the late 80’s – in fact by the mid 90’s this ‘free’ style had become daggy, maybe it was because hack ad agencies used it to sell crap holidays.
now the revival of all things mid 90’s, daggy ‘free’ style logo’s included, are pretty cool huh.

ps. I actually like this track, it does creep up on ya – like I imagine their LP will too.

after a few more listens i’ve grown pretty fond of this song. but still, it’s not what i want from cut copy.

and i agree that it kinda seems like they’re giving up their own thing to jump on the chillwave bandwagon.

The logo is obviously somewhat of an homage to Keith Haring. I also detect hints of James Rizzi’s work in there.

Given that both artists hit their strides in the late eighties, the “daggy 90s tourist paraphernalia” comment is both a little anachronistic and a little unjust.

Ain’t keen on the logo either, looks like something that you’d expect from daggy 90’s tourist paraphernalia.

As for the track, I’m really liking the vibe. Will be very interesting to hear the rest of it…
