KillaQueenz – ‘Bitches’

Here’s an SMS I recently sent – KillaQueenz are my favourite Sydney rap crew hands down. ‘Bitches’, produced by [Melbourne producer du jour] M-Phazes, bangs harder than anything out there. “Bitches don’t/ bitches don’t/ bitches don’t like me.” God, it’s just a ridiculously anthemic chorus, backed with supreme confidence in their abilities.”

I was perhaps being a bit hyperbolic (I was dancing at the time), but I stand by the core sentiment of the above text – that ‘Bitches’, the second KQ single following the Gameboy/Gamegirl-sampling ‘Sweaty Wet’, is an utter banger.

P.S. if you live in Sydney, you really need to see them live at some point.

Danimals playing Spectrum

January 4, 2010

Well I’ve been smitten by Danimal’s production recently, so I was pretty happy that they won the competition run by Tooheys (yep another one), but the prize of this is that they got flown to the US to work with Mark Ronson for a week, with artists like Santi(o)gold, Kaiser Chiefs and others dropping in [...]
