I’m very late on this one, but in case you haven’t heard our friends teenagersintokyo are finally making headway into the UK scene where they just finished their first tour. They’ve signed to BackYard recordings, the UK home of Chromeo and The Gossip. Their latest single is a good old fashioned dancy grrl riot anthem. Sydney based remixers Knife Machine have also made a banging electro incarnation of the track ‘Robocat’ fit for the best of ravers out there.

  1. JSide says:

Their drummer is a really great guy and a very talented musician, but that can’t hide the band that this band creates derivative, bland music. He should chuck a Daniel Stricker and leave this weak group for bigger and better things..

    Couldn’t agree more.
This band have been flogged to within an inch of their life, capitalising on the glut of scenesters who tuned into palatable and unchallenging indie-electro music.

I get the feeling that they are riding on the coat tails of more successful dark ectro / indie bands like Lost Valentinos, Y&R, Damn Arms and Dardanelles and that when they are shown to be a songwriting collective who lack all substance and subtlety they’ll fade in the minds of the flippant hipsters who first made them popular.
