SEQUENCE: Kite Club @ Sing Sing Studios

, , No Comment

Kite Club (Nicholas Futcher) is currently in the midst of recording his debut record, so we recently got down to Richmond’s hallowed Sing Sing Studios to shoot the band laying down some tracks. Futcher and the band have been plugging away with Jean-Paul Fung (of Jinja Safari/Last Dinosaurs fame). If this session was anything to go by, expect big things from Kite Club come release date.

LOOK: Alpine @ Oxford Act Factory

Melbourne’s Alpine stop over into Sydney to play two sold out shows for their debut album tour, A is For Alpine. Known for that video where a sea of models start making out with their hands, Alpine proved that they did not need frolicking models, nor hands, to grab the crowds attention with their synthy, ear pleasing tunes.

Check out Alpine here, http://www.alpineband.com

Also, be sure to check out them out at one of their upcoming shows. Tour dates can be found here.

Sydney’s Fabergettes got their heels (and their hula) on in King’s Cross last night as part of FBi Radio’s Music Open Day, showcasing some of their favourite acts to submit music so far this year.

If you’re in the mood for 60s garage holding hands with sugary doo-wop, they’ve got their EP up on their bandcamp – and let’s face it, when are you not in the mood for that?

Ainslie Wills

New image making talent Rachela (Rah-Kela) covered the lovely Ainslie Wills playing GoodGod Small club in Sydney last week. Ainslie was plugging her very accomplished single ‘Stop Pulling The String’ with support from Caitlin Park.

If you missed the show don’t fret, you can catch Ainslie on Rockwiz (remember how good Megan Washington was) screening on SBS:

Saturday 1 September doing a very special Johnny Cash duet with rapper 360. Seriously that will be amazing.

Pick up the single from itunes linked here – /www.ainsliewills.com.

Chet Faker treated FBI radio supporters to an intimate live performance before his sold out gig at the Oxford Art Factory tonight. We sent along another talented new contributor Alex Kirk to document Chet’s beard. Alex reckons it was one of those shows that felt like a bunch of friends hanging out to celebrate Chet’s “looping beats, under his growly soul and that gorgeous Wurlitzer keyboard”. Sounds like a good one. Check the dates left on his tour:
